First Continental Congress

First Continental Congress met in opposition to the Intolerant Act, brought into law in response to the Boston Tea Party. All thirteen colonies, except Georgia, sent representatives. While the congress voiced opposition to the act and taxes imposed by the Parliament, it expressed loyalty to Crown. It met between 5 September  and 26 October 1774.
